Approximately ۱۴ miles outside the city of Karaj, Northwest in middle of no where you will find this beautiful "Traditional Shamdani Restaurant" in the city of Baraghoon. The restaurant is beautifully designed as an authentic traditional house in the villages of Iran. Great ambience with lot of nostalgia. The old antiques along side of old pictures of the locals, transfers the nostalgic feeling of the village.
The host/owner, was gracious and friendly with great customer service standards. The food was magnificent, delicious, original and traditional. We had the famous "Ash-e Reshteh" soup, Vegetarian with mix of "Kashk". We followed it with "Mirza-ghasemi"made from roasted eggplants with garlic and tomatoes, which was delicious. The other entrees were "Kofteh Somaq" ground beef meatballs in a somaq sauce, also tasty and original. The last entree we had, which was also our first time trying, was made with "Kashk" fried mint, onions and garlic with ground walnuts. It was delicious and different. Except the Koofteh/meatballs all our dishes were Vegetarian. This is specially true with lot of Persian dishes, specially outside of Tehran! Overall, great place for getting out of the wild city. Delicious food and an awesome ambiance! Highly recommended...
